Material for ceiling shall be ¡¥WINHOP SERIES®¡¦ GRG, Glass Reinforced Fiberglass Gypsum, plasterglass
or Glass Reinforced Plaster supplied by WINHOP LIMITED.
Product shall be manufactured to 4mm to 12mm thickness by hand
laminated fibreglass reinforced gypsum, combined with
strand of glassfibre and shall have density of not exceeding 1,500 kg/m3.
Fire Propagation Test ¡V the material shall be tested in accordance with
British Standard 476, Part 4, 1970 with the classification is Non-combustible.
Product (Moisture Resistance Type: MR) is recommended for area where
high resistant to moisture is a prerequisite.
Fixing
The specialist ceiling contractor shall be responsible for providing
design proposal and shop drawing for the ceiling and its supporting system and
shop drawings for the approval of Architects prior installation.
Mock Up
Samples must be submitted for Architects approval. Site mock up is needed to check fixing
condition, situation and finishing.
ISO 1400 (2001)
Manufacturer must achieve ISO 1400 (2001) standard or higher.

Product Size
Product is no size limit, however, according
the site situation, normally we recommend product size is not larger than 5m2
or 65kg.
For the fixing of ¡¥WINHOP SERIES®¡¦ product all clouts and nails shall be galvanized. The length of the clout or nail shall be
sufficient to allow approximately 19mm penetration into solid wood or
approximately 38mm where plugs are used.
For the fixing of ¡¥WINHOP SERIES®¡¦ product, screws shall be rust proof and a self drilling and tapping
variety, a minimum of 25mm in length.
Used for grouting, shall be specially manufactured
¡¥BORAL¡¦ or equivalent cornice adhesive plaster compound developed and approval
for such purposes by the manufacturer.
Bonding strength should be maximum 300 mm in according to the standard
CI-QA-TM-43.
Used in the mixing of plaster gauge and/or wetting
down of dry plaster surfaces, shall be clean and fresh.
E) Labour
The labour employed in the
erection, fixing and finishing of ¡¥WINHOP SERIES®
¡¦ product shall be competent tradesmen.
All nogging, trimming, straightening and packing of
studs and ceiling joints necessary for the application of ¡¥WINHOP SERIES®¡¦ product, shall be provided by the subcontractor prior to fixing
operations.
Ceiling framing shall provide backgrounds for
continuous fixing.
¡¥WINHOP SERIES®¡¦ product shall
be fixed to galvanized metal channel studs and ceiling furring channels in
accordance with methods proposed by the specialist contractor and with approval
of the Architect.
Clout and screws holes, joint angles, damaged
arises, and other places required to be stopped, shall be finished in a tradesman
like manner using ¡¥BORAL¡¦ cornice adhesive stopping compound developed and
approved by the manufacturer.
To obtain satisfactory results with smooth finishes,
filling & sanding will be required.
Surface of plasterglass should be skim plastered to at least 3mm(thk) before the application of surface finishing.
Plasterglass shall only be
painted under final lighting conditions to eliminate any imperfections apparent
during temporary lighting.
Care should be exercised in the selection of primer
& sealer paints to make sure it provides a bonding surface for the paint to
be applied. Before applying the
primer or sealer, remove all loose dirt and dust by brushing with a soft
brush. Be sure the joint grouting
is thorough dry before any application of sealer or paint. Choice of emulsion paint / surface
finish is subjected to the site condition & the recommendation of painting
specialist.
INSTALLATION SPECIFICATION OF CEILING SUSPENSION
SYSTEM
FOR GRG & PLASTERGLASS CEILING
A) SUSPENSION
SYSTEM
1) The suspension system
for GRG & plasterglass shall be KIRII Ceiling
Suspension System or equivalent.
2) The ceiling furrings shall be made of hot-dip galvanized steel. The cross sectioned dimension of
C-Channel and M-Channel Furring shall be 38 x 12 x 1mm and 50 x 50 x 0.5mm
respectively.
3) As an alternative
proposal, the supporting calculation shall be submitted and approved by the
Architect to ensure that the structural is adequate to sustain the ceiling
load.
B) CEILING
BOARDS
1) Ceiling board shall be
¡§Winhop Series®¡¨ GRG or plasterglass, 4 to 12 mm thick according the design
Architect¡¦s.
C) INSTALLATION
1) Installation of the 9mm
dia. Threaded suspension both shall be fixed by
suitable insert to the underneath of slab soffit. Spacing of suspension both must be at
1220mm max. in either direction and at perimeter of
ceiling as required.
2) The Carrying channel
(C-Channel) must be placed at 1220mm max. shall be
hung to the lower part of the suspension bolts by means of galvanized steel
hangers and nut.
3) The double furring
(M-Channel) at a spacing of 600mm max. shall be fixed
to the carrying channel with double clips at each intersection. Double Clips must as a rule alternate
with the sides of the carrying channel.
4) Rigid and aligned
system for the fixing of ceiling board must be provided with separated pieces
of carrying channel and double furring to be jointed by channel joint and
double joint respectively.
5) Extra hangers to be
provided where opening are required for light fittings and access panels.
6) All components must be
well fixed and the suspension system must be correctly aligned and accurately
leveled before attaching the ceiling board.
C) INSTALLATION

7) The ceiling board shall
be fixed by screws at 300mm max. to the double furring
with long edges of the gypsum board placed parallel to the double furring.
8) Finish of all joints
and screw heads with ¡§Boral¡¨ gypsum adhesive joint
tape and ready mix jointing compound must b in accordance with manufacturer¡¦s
instruction with shall be approved by the Architect and sand smooth.
9) Plastering and Painting
works can be proceeded.
WORKING
PROCEDURE
(1) Level
Marking
Mark the ceiling
height on the surrounding walls according to the reference line.
(2) Installing
Suspension Hangers
Fit the hanger
lightly to the lower part of the suspension bolt.
(3) Installing
Suspension Bolts.
Install the
suspension bolt to the insert prepared on the stab soffit.
(4) Installing
C-Channels
Installing
the c-Channel to the hanger.
(5) Determining
the Level
String and level
the C-Channel according to the mark above, and tighten the hanger nut.
(6) Installing
Furring Channels.
Clip the furring
channels to the C-Channel according to the backing allotment. Clips must as a rule alternate with the
sides of the C-Channel.
(7) Installing
Ceiling Board
Fix the board by
bugle head screws to the furring channels at 300mm (12¡¨) max.
(1) Prepare
production mould for fabrication.
(2) Only
pure gypsum and fine fiberglass can be used for production which must be the 10
(ten) suppliers in list according manufacturer specification.
(3) Form
sample for final approval by QC Manager and the Architect.
(4) Forming
product according the quantity.
(5) Product
will take 3-4 weeks to complete dry.
(6) Quality
check for all product, marking and labeling.
(7) No
allow cracking, delaminate or peeling production to ship out the factory.
(8) Size
for the curved ceiling panel for Venetian is 2200 x 2200 x 1000mm (L) with
R=2000mm
STEP
OF INSTALL OF GRG OR PLASTERGLASS CEILING PRODUCT
(1) Level
Marking
Mark
the ceiling height on the surrounding walls according to the reference line.
(2) Installing
Suspension Hangers
Fit the GMS angle hanger - size 38 x 38 x 3mm thick (max. 1200mm c/c) with welded blacket to the slab soffit using anchor bolt.
(3) Install
C-Channel (Runner)
Installing
the C-Channel - size: 38 x 12 x 1mm thick (max. 1200mm c/c) to the hanger with
screw.
(4) Determining
the Level
String
and level the C-Channel according to the mark above and tighten the hanger nut.
(5) Install
M-Channels (Furring)
Clip
the M-Channels size: 20 x 50 x 0.5mm thick, @600mm c/c, to the C-Channel to the
backing allotment. Clips must as a
rule alternate with the sides of the C-Channel.
(6) Installing
Ceiling Board
Fix the curved GRG or plasterglass ceiling board size: 2200 x 2200 x 12mm thick, R=2000mm by screw to the furring channels at 300mm (12¡¨) max.
